Manit "Kai" Maneephantakun joins BurdaLuxury as editor-in-chief for Lifestyle Asia Bangkok. Kai joined us recently and is responsible for defining the brand's editorial strategy and launching new brand initiatives and events.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself and your background?

After earning a degree in political science from Chulalongkorn University, I was hired as a freelance writer for Elle Thailand magazine, specializing in fashion and entertainment. Prior to writing for numerous Thai and international magazines, I worked as a contributor for Vogue Thailand and Hamburger Magazine before landing my most recent position as a PR Specialist with Gems Pavilion, a high-end jewelry company.

How do you feel joining Lifestyle Asia Bangkok and BurdaLuxury?

It's a fantastic opportunity to work in a field that you've always wanted to work in. I feel honored and proud.

What would be your vision to drive Lifestyle Asia Bangkok forward?

One of my primary goals is to present Lifestyle Asia Thailand as a friend to Thai readers, as someone who is knowledgeable about everything that readers and clients care about—lifestyle, fashion, and entertainment. Beyond this, we aim to provide engaging original content and a unique brand experience.

Can you tell us about your career journey in media/publication?

I used to be a very versatile writer who could write in any style. I was able to work in both styling and photography at the same time, with my work appearing in every well-known Thai magazine. Working with world-class magazines like Elle Thailand and Vogue Thailand has been especially rewarding.

What sort of duties do you have at work?

Maintain a thorough understanding of LSA content in Thai and English in order to fully expand the Lifestyle Asia brand.

What’s the most exciting part of your job?

At work, I constantly get to face new and intriguing challenges.
