Burda Launches International Trainee Programme

Burda Launches International Trainee Programme

Eighteen months, three international rotations, one mentor, and a 360 degree insight: That’s the new Burda MORE International Trainee Programme in numbers. It supports talented graduates on their journeys to becoming leaders in the fascinating media and technology sectors, and helps them build a worldwide network of peers (m/f/x) while driving core strategic initiatives in four international markets. Additionally, the programme helps BurdaInternational‘s companies around the world in their efforts to recruit budding managers locally.

What makes the MORE Programme different?

The Czech Republic, France, Poland, Thailand, and the United Kingdom will act as host countries for the programme’s first year, which begins in January 2021. While its general structure will be coordinated centrally from Munich, the application processes, hiring, and individual trainee support will be handled locally. This means that talents should apply directly to the host countries. It is not possible to apply in Germany.

“The MORE Programme has many benefits, including the increased cross-border co-operation between our companies all over the world. It also gives us the ability to promote local talents and therefore assist our companies globally with their succession planning for management positions.”

What the MORE International trainees can expect

Alongside seminars and individual coaching, the trainees (m/f/x) will receive personal supervision and mentoring from local executives (m/f/x) during the programme’s 1.5-years duration. Trainees can also work on strategic projects in the fields of Digital Transaction & Advertising, Finance & Accounting, and Technology at seven stations. They will complete two individual stays abroad as well as a period based at the BurdaInternational HQ in Munich, Germany. During their sojourn in Germany, they will be familiarised with Burda’s history and key corporate divisions. The aim is to provide them with a comprehensive understanding of Burda and to grow their network across the Burda group. Uniquely, the international rotations will empower trainees to appreciate different work cultures and lifestyles, as Martin Weiss, CEO of BurdaInternational explains: “We continually strive to create new business opportunities around the consumers we serve. That is why we are looking for talents who bring the same enthusiasm for the interest and needs of local people as for international contexts.”
