BurdaLuxury Promotes Valerie Leong to Head of Sales, Singapore and Malaysia

BurdaLuxury, Asia’s leading media company, has announced the promotion of Valerie Leong as Head of Sales for Singapore and Malaysia, effective immediately.

Leong was the Head of Sales for BurdaLuxury Singapore, a role she’s held since 2021. Leong, who joined BurdaLuxury in 2018, previously held the role of Senior Sales Director, where she was responsible for promoting and positioning Lifestyle Asia Singapore as the preferred digital lifestyle publisher to clients and agencies in Singapore. Leong’s role as Head of Sales for Singapore saw her spearhead the sales of integrated content and advertising solutions across all the brands within BurdaLuxury Singapore’s portfolio (Prestige Singapore, Lifestyle Asia Singapore, PIN Prestige Singapore, AUGUSTMAN Singapore).

Leong possesses over a decade of experience in the sales industry. Prior to joining BurdaLuxury, Leong has worked in companies including ACP Magazines, Singtel and Scripps Networks. Her portfolio of clients spans a variety of industry, including retail brands, banking and finance, and tourism and hospitality clients – positioning her at an advantage in this expanded role.

In this new role, Leong will be responsible for driving sales strategy across both Singapore and Malaysia. In addition to developing greater sales synergies between the two countries, this new structure will enable Leong to create opportunities for greater regional collaboration from a commercial standpoint, such as Lifestyle Asia  initiating a new campaign across Singapore & Malaysia, called Made in Asia, this initiative provides an insight into the lives and contributions of the individuals who are actively shaping contemporary lifestyles in both countries.

On her new role, Valerie Leong, Head of Sales, Singapore and Malaysia, said: “Being able to take on this expanded role is a privilege, and I am excited to strengthen the partnerships we’ve built across both territories. I am looking forward to creating better developed solutions for our clients to drive value for their brands, as well as ours, across the region.”

Leong’s promotion reflects BurdaLuxury’s recent shift in organisational structure to build on the positive momentum in both markets, with Lena Kwek being promoted to Managing Director and Publisher for BurdaLuxury Singapore and Malaysia in November 2024 and Martin Teo being promoted to Editor-in-Chief of Lifestyle Asia Singapore and Malaysia in January 2025.

Lena Kwek, Managing Director and Publisher for BurdaLuxury Singapore and Malaysia said: “I am delighted to see Valerie take on this expanded role of looking after the clients and agencies across both Singapore and Malaysia. I am confident that her leadership will drive greater collaboration between the two markets as we continue to strengthen our regional presence. With the expansion of Lifestyle Asia’s Made in Asia campaign, as well as launching AUGUSTMAN’s A-List – an initiative that began in Malaysia in 2014 – again in Singapore, we are committed to delivering more innovative solutions to our partners. Valerie’s promotion will foster greater client strategies and help develop synergies between the two countries.”
