Unveiling Culinary Frontiers: Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong and Macau Launches First Print Publication in Three Years with Its Tastemakers Edition

T+L Southeast Asia Tastemakers Awards

In a celebration of the diverse culinary landscape of Southeast Asia, Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia proudly presents the magazine’s first print edition in three years.

Dedicated to drinking and dining on our travels, the December 2023 issue showcases the extraordinary individuals and establishments that have redefined the culinary scene in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. It also features the first-ever winners of the T+L Tastemakers Awards. Curated by a panel of seasoned foodies, chefs, sommeliers, and Travel + Leisure contributors, the list celebrates the spirit of innovation within the F&B industry, naming the 25 best restaurants and 10 best bars of the year in each of the aforementioned countries.

From funky Isaan fare to the plant-based revolution, the issue explores the latest trends and hidden gems tempting the palates of avid food enthusiasts. Readers can embark on virtual bar crawls through the backstreets of Saigon and Mont Kiara in Kuala Lumpur, discover new foodie hotspots from Poblacion to Phuket, and delve into the remarkable stories of the Travel + Leisure Tastemakers 2023 award-winners.

“Everyone in this magazine, and especially the winners of our inaugural Tastemakers Awards, are changing how we eat and drink for the better, opening new windows and forgotten paths and helping us make Proustian memories of the first bites and sips.” said Jeninne Lee-St. John, Editor-in-Chief of Travel + Leisure Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, and Macau.

The legendary Hermès Birkin bag - once the quintessential symbol of feminine luxury - is being carried by men. Concurrently, androgynous tailoring has moved from edgy fringe to mainstream norm. These two phenomena are not isolated; they marry in a broader redefinition of luxury itself: iconic bags meet gender-neutral tailoring, challenging traditional notions of status, style and exclusivity.
